This section covers the areas of Temporary, Emergency, Holiday and Week-End Cover.
We have a number of volunteers who are not in a position to care full-time for an ADNI pup/dog in training.
However they are able to offer a place in their home for one of our pups/dogs on a temporary/overnight and at weekends. Sometimes, a dog may need to be placed for a longer period of time to cover illness and/or holidays.
Full support is given and all dog food and equipment is provided. All our dogs are insured and in the event of any vet care being necessary.
- You have a fully-fenced safe and secure garden
- You are away from the puppy for no more than two hours (in the first few weeks) and 4 hours (for the remaining of the time you have the puppy ) per day.
- Have no more than two existing pet dogs.
- That you drive or have access to someone at all times that can drive you.
- Be able to attend a puppy training class per week if required (usually no longer than an hour long).
- Be able to spend time every day to participate in activities to socialise the puppy. Environments that need to be covered at some time include trains, busses, shops crowed areas, café, doctor’s/dentists surgeries and rural areas.
- You are able to provide the puppy with regular contact with children, other dogs and cats.
- Ideally do not have children under the age of 3 years old.
