Please help protect the future of Assistance Dogs Northern Ireland to make sure our 10th year is not our final year.
The current Covid-19 crisis is impacting our fundraising and we anticipate a shortfall, as a result of Covid-19 we have lost out on two significant fundraising events already this year. The crisis means we will be training fewer assistance dogs. Since September 2016, the charity has received over 500 enquiries for an assistance dog. We know our amazing dogs are a lifeline, providing practical support, companionship, and security especially at this very uncertain time. We do not want to reduce our support when it is needed most.
Reduced income means we face an uncertain future and tough decisions in the months to come about how to stretch our funds to deliver all areas of our services.
A donation at this crucial time will help make sure that when this crisis ends, Assistance Dogs Northern Ireland will still be here, able to train amazing dogs to transform lives.
Please donate today to help secure the future of Assistance Dogs Northern Ireland.
Sadly, for the time being, we are not able to place any new assistance dogs with clients. We will not restart face to face sessions with clients until it is safe to do so.
Safety of our dogs
While our offices are currently closed, our puppies and dogs-in-training remain safely in the homes of our staff and experienced volunteers, and their training continues to prepare them for their future roles. Our volunteers are doing an amazing job looking after all our dogs, with lots of activities to help continue to support their training and give them lots of enrichment both mentally and physically. Our training staff are also giving lots of support remotely with, fun challenges and behavioral advice and support to help our pups as they grow.
Impact on fundraising
We are very grateful to the many people who are supporting us in terms of fundraising and raising awareness and we will continue in our mission to help as many people through the power of dogs as soon as we are able. While many of our events and activities that raise vital funds for us have had to be postponed, we will be arranging virtual events in the coming weeks and months. You can continue to support us when our virtual events are set up. You can donate via Pay Pal or Just Giving. Please share our stories on social media.
Your support is more vital to us than ever as we face a loss of fundraising income over the forthcoming months.
