How to give to charity for free

Evolution

You can donate to us while you’re shopping, and it won’t cost you a penny!

We promise it’s super-simple and we’ve pulled together a guide to our top ways to give for free to help you get started:

Amazon Smile

Online giant Amazon launched its Amazon Smile website earlier this year, and the company donates a percentage of your shopping total to your chosen charity.

  • Go to: amazon.co.uk from your computer, tablet or mobile phone
  • Log into your account (or create one if you’ve not got one already)
  • Select Assistance Dogs Northern Ireland as your chosen charity
  • Get shopping!
  • Once you have paid for your items Amazon will donate a percentage of your shop to us automatically – Amazing!

High street retailers

Next up are two sites that pretty much do the same thing, so you just need to take your pick – Easy Fundraising and Give as you Live enable you to shop from over 3,000 retailers and donate to us at the same time. It’s like an online shopping mall!

Both sites work in pretty much the same way (the participating retailers differ slightly) so really, it’s down to personal choice as to which one works best for you. Here’s how:

eBay for Charity

We’ve all had them, the Christmas gift that wasn’t quite what you wanted and now you don’t know what to do with it. Well, eBay may be your answer. The great news is that you can list on eBay for Charity, a programme that allows you to sell items on eBay to benefit charities, including Dogs for Good.

All you need to get started is an eBay account and register a PayPal Giving account.  You can decide to give between 10% and 100% of your sale to your chosen charity and while there is a listings fee, in order to support your generosity eBay gives you a pro-rated fee credit to your account.  You can even gift-aid your donation, allowing Dogs for Good to get an extra 25p for every £1 you donate.
