Volunteer Customer Service Assistant

As a customer service assistant, you can help ensure our customers receive the best possible service and enjoy our shop and what it has to offer. Join us to make our shop a success so we can train more dogs to transform lives.

Objective:

  • To help us grow income by providing a positive experience of the highest standard within our shop
  • To encourage donation of stock, increase sales and promote volunteering opportunities
  • There is never a dull moment in a charity shop

What skills do we need:

  • Well organised, flexible and able to prioritise
  • Can work as part of a team and like interacting with people
  • Friendly, enthusiastic and able to encourage
  • Good people skills and are a good communicator
  • Can think creatively to find ways to increase profits
  • Any special skills or knowledge in music, working with figures or a flair for fashion

What you will be doing:

  • Talking to customers and making them feel welcome in the shop
  • Advising and helping people as they shop
  • Operating the till and dealing with various types of payment
  • Answering customer enquiries
  • Keeping an eye on the security of the shop
  • Assisting with shop displays, including window dressing
  • Ensuring that the shop is clean, tidy and goods are displayed in an attractive manner
  • Checking stocks of any products and replenishing when necessary

What will we give you:

  • We will provide all the training you need to feel confident in the role.  The shop manager will be able to give you advice and assist you as well as experienced volunteers in the team; who will be available when you need help or want to ask a question.

Minimum of half a day or four hours per week.
